TISSL Squad Selection: Behind the Scenes

Three days ago, TISSL revealed the new clubs formed for the upcoming 22/23 season, however, fans would like to know how negotiations really planned out behind the scenes.

  • The split of AG Roma's legendary front three (Ryan Tano, Mishael Sakyi & Thomas Seli Awumee) was confirmed through the reveal video. This trio had the highest number of goal contributions between them last season ( 24 g/a). This season, however, they decided to captain their own teams.

  • Hustlers had a rough time negotiating in the beginning after being rejected by Michael Labor, Elidjah Cisse, and Enam (on 2 occasions), but eventually recruited Brendon Christian as their goalkeeper and even managed to field 7 outfield players.

  • Senos FC enjoyed a splendid window throughout and their ruthlessness earlier in the window enabled them to fill out all their outfield player spots within the first day of the window. They have arguably, the strongest team in the league at the moment.

  • Godfred Tekpor, the official referee of this TISSL season also had a rough time throughout the window. The player-referee got bounced by the Hustlers and Senos FC on numerous occasions. Since then he's made his intentions clear for revenge, putting in place a two-game max contract available for any other teams other than Hustlers and Senos FC.

  • Counters FC had a pretty rough time in the window and were the last team to submit their player register, managing just six players, together with Benchwarmers FC.

  • Other teams like CF Ebon, Ace FC etc. all had decent windows.

We look forward to a captivating 22/23 TISSL season which begins in August 2022, once the TISBL playoffs have been concluded.
